The University of Central Arkansas (UCA) is a public research university in Conway, Arkansas. Founded in 1907 as the Arkansas State Normal School, it is the state's second largest university by enrollment. As the state's only normal school at the time, UCA has historically been the primary source of teachers in Arkansas. The institution began offering four-year degrees for the first time in 1950 and changed its name to Arkansas State Teachers College in 1957. A graduate school was established in 1969. In 1975, the institution's name was changed to the University of Central Arkansas. The university offers more than 100 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The school is known for its programs in business, education, kinesiology, and nursing.

UCA is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. It is also a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The university's athletic teams, known as the Bears, compete in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision and are members of the Southland Conference. The university is home to two museums, the Donald W. Reynolds Center for Arkansas Art and the Baum Gallery of Fine Art.
