The University of Arkansas-Fort Smith (UAFS) is a public university in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The university is the fifth-largest in the state of Arkansas and is one of two universities in the University of Arkansas System. UAFS was founded in 1928 as a branch campus of the University of Arkansas and became a four-year institution in 1963. The university offers more than 40 undergraduate degrees and 20 graduate degrees.

UAFS is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The university is also accredited by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education. The UAFS Nursing Program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

The university's athletic teams are known as the Lions and compete in the NCAA Division II. The Lions are members of the Heartland Conference.
