Southwest Acupuncture College-Santa Fe (SWAC-Santa Fe) is a nationally-accredited, professional acupuncture college located in Santa Fe, New Mexico, offering a four-year doctoral program in acupuncture and Oriental medicine. The college was founded in 1983 by Dr. J.R. Worsley, a world-renowned acupuncturist and author of The Theory and Practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine. SWAC-Santa Fe is one of the first acupuncture colleges in the United States, and is the only college in the Southwest offering a four-year doctoral program in acupuncture and Oriental medicine. The college offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes coursework in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, Oriental medical theory, diagnosis, acupuncture, and herbal medicine. In addition to the four-year doctoral program, SWAC-Santa Fe also offers a two-year master's program, a one-year certificate program, and continuing education courses for licensed acupuncturists.
