Rio Hondo College is a community college located in the unincorporated community of Whittier, California, in the United States. The college serves the cities of Whittier, Pico Rivera, Santa Fe Springs, South El Monte, and El Monte. It is one of 110 public community colleges in the state of California. The college offers Associates degrees and certificate programs in a variety of disciplines.

Rio Hondo College was established in 1960. The college was originally founded as a two-year institution to serve the growing population of the San Gabriel Valley. The college was named after the Rio Hondo, a tributary of the Los Angeles River that runs through the Valley. The college began offering four-year degrees in the 1970s, and today offers a variety of two- and four-year degree and certificate programs.

Rio Hondo College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The college is also approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Rio Hondo College has an enrollment of approximately 13,000 students. The college offers over 100 associate's degree and certificate programs. The college is organized into six academic divisions: Business and Computer Science; Creative Arts; Education; Language Arts; Math, Science, and Engineering; and Social Sciences and Humanities.

Rio Hondo College is home to a number of student clubs and organizations, including the Associated Students of Rio Hondo College, which is the college's student government. The college also has an active athletics program, with teams competing in a variety of sports at the intercollegiate level.

Rio Hondo College is located in the San Gabriel Valley, about 20 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. The college is accessible by a number of major freeways, including the San Bernardino Freeway (I-10), the Pomona Freeway (State Route 60), and the Long Beach Freeway (I-710).
