Randolph-Macon College is a private, coeducational liberal arts and sciences college located in Ashland, Virginia, United States. Founded in 1830, the school has an enrollment of about 1,500 students. The college offers bachelor's degrees in 36 majors and 37 minors, as well as five co-curricular programs. The Randolph-Macon campus is home to three National Historic Landmarks: Ashland, the Henry Clay estate; Gari Melchers Home and Studio, Belle Grove; and Virginia Theological Seminary and College.
Randolph-Macon was founded as Randolph-Macon Academy in 1830 by the Virginia Methodist Episcopal Church. The academy, located in Boydton, Virginia, was the first Methodist Episcopal institution of higher learning in the United States. The academy was named for John Randolph of Roanoke and Nathaniel Macon of Warren County, two prominent Virginians of the early nineteenth century. In 1847, the academy moved to its present location in Ashland, Virginia. The school was renamed Randolph-Macon College in 1849.

The Randolph-Macon campus is home to three National Historic Landmarks: Ashland, the Henry Clay estate; Gari Melchers Home and Studio, Belle Grove; and Virginia Theological Seminary and College. The Randolph-Macon campus is also home to a number of other historic buildings, including the Old Dominion Building, the Ashland Train Station, and the Maury-Randolph House.
