Founded in 1865, Ottawa University is a private, non-profit, coeducational university located in Ottawa, Kansas, United States. It is affiliated with the American Baptist Churches USA. The university offers undergraduate and graduate degrees through its five schools: the School of Business, the School of Education, the School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Nursing, and the School of Professional and Graduate Studies. The university's athletic teams, the Braves, compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC).

Ottawa University was founded by Baptist missionaries, and the university's charter was approved by the Kansas Legislature in 1865. The school opened its doors in 1866 with five students and two faculty members, and grew rapidly in the following years. In 1868, the university moved to its current location in Ottawa, Kansas. The university began offering graduate degrees in 1925, and in the 1960s and 1970s the university underwent a period of expansion, adding new academic programs and facilities. Today, Ottawa University enrolls over 1,700 students from more than 30 states and 20 countries. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs, and is home to five schools: the School of Business, the School of Education, the School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Nursing, and the School of Professional and Graduate Studies.

The university's athletic teams, the Braves, compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC). The Braves offer a wide range of sports, including baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, and volleyball. The university also offers a variety of club sports, such as cheerleading, dance, esports, and ultimate frisbee.

Ottawa University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The university's School of Business is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), and the School of Education is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
