The New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) is a private research university with two main campuses in New York—one in Old Westbury and one in Manhattan. NYIT also has a global network of campuses, including locations in Abu Dhabi and Nanjing. NYIT offers more than 90 degree programs across its schools of Architecture and Design, Engineering and Computing Sciences, Health Professions, Management, and Osteopathic Medicine. NYIT's student body comprises over 9,000 students from over 100 countries.

Founded in 1955, NYIT was one of the first private engineering and technical institutes in the United States. NYIT's founding president, Alexander Schure, was a strong advocate for the advancement of science and technology education. Under his leadership, NYIT became a pioneer in hands-on, experiential education. NYIT was an early adopter of cooperative education, which allows students to gain real-world experience while completing their studies.

NYIT's Old Westbury campus is home to the School of Architecture and Design, the School of Engineering and Computing Sciences, and the School of Management. The Manhattan campus houses the School of Health Professions and the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine.

NYIT's School of Architecture and Design offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, and urban design. The school's programs are accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB).

The School of Engineering and Computing Sciences offers degrees in computer science, engineering, and information technology. The school's programs are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

The School of Management offers degrees in business, accounting, and finance. The school's programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

The School of Health Professions offers degrees in occupational therapy, physical therapy, physician assistant studies, and speech-language pathology. The school's programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE), the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), and the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA).

The New York College of Osteopathic Medicine is NYIT's medical school. The college offers degrees in osteopathic medicine, biomedical sciences, and health policy and management. The college's programs are accredited by the American Osteopathic Association's Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA).

NYIT is committed to providing a well-rounded education to its students. In addition to academic coursework, NYIT students have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities, including clubs, sports, and service-learning projects. NYIT also offers a variety of study abroad programs.

NYIT is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
