New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (NYCTCM) is an accredited institution of higher learning that offers a professional Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) degree. The four-year program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive and in-depth education in TCM theory and practice, with an emphasis on the clinical applications of TCM.
NYCTCM is committed to providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become competent and ethical practitioners of TCM. The curriculum includes coursework in TCM theory, acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Tuina (Chinese medical massage), dietetics, and Western biomedical sciences. In addition, students are required to complete a clinical internship in order to gain practical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Upon graduation, students are eligible to take the national board exams to become licensed acupuncturists and Chinese herbalists in the state of New York. NYCTCM graduates are also prepared to pursue advanced studies in TCM or related fields, such as acupuncture research, Chinese medicine pharmacology, or TCM education.
