Midwest College of Oriental Medicine-Evanston (MCOM-E) is a nationally accredited, professional school of acupuncture and Oriental medicine located in Evanston, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. MCOM-E was founded in 1984 and offers a four-year, full-time Master of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) degree program, as well as a two-year, full-time Master of Science in Acupuncture (MSAc) degree program. The MSOM program at MCOM-E is one of the longest-running programs in the United States, and the MSAc program is one of the few programs in the country that is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM).

The MSOM program at MCOM-E is a comprehensive program that includes coursework in Oriental medicine theory, acupuncture, Chinese herbs, Western medicine, and clinical training. The MSAc program at MCOM-E is a more focused program that includes coursework in acupuncture theory and technique, Chinese herbs, and clinical training. Both programs at MCOM-E include a one-year, full-time clinical internship.

Graduates of the MSOM program at MCOM-E are eligible to sit for the national board exams administered by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Graduates of the MSAc program at MCOM-E are eligible to sit for the national board exams administered by the ACAOM. Upon passing the national board exams, graduates are then eligible to apply for state licensure.

The faculty at MCOM-E consists of experienced practitioners and scholars who are committed to providing students with a high-quality education in Oriental medicine. The clinical training program at MCOM-E is one of the largest and most comprehensive in the country, and the school has a strong commitment to community service. MCOM-E is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
