Lesley University is a private research university in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The university is organized into six undergraduate colleges and four graduate schools, all of which offer programs in the arts and sciences. Lesley University is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

The university was founded in 1909 as the Lesley School for Girls, a women's college. The school was named after its founder, Edward Lesley, who also served as the first president of the college. In 1930, the Lesley School for Girls merged with the nearby Cambridge School of Weston to form Lesley College. In 1954, the college began admitting men and became coeducational.

In the 21st century, Lesley University offers more than 80 undergraduate and graduate programs to nearly 6,000 students. The university's main campus is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, just outside of Boston. Lesley University also has a branch campus in Boston's Longwood Medical and Academic Area.
