Kansas Christian College was founded in 1933 as Kansas Bible College by members of the Churches of Christ. The college's first president was W.O. Vaught, who served in that role until his death in 1942. The school's second president was A.C. Grider, who served from 1942 until his retirement in 1966. During Grider's tenure, the college moved from its original location in downtown Kansas City to its current location in Overland Park.

In 1967, the college's third president, J.W. Link, was elected. Link served until his death in 1975. The fourth president of the college was D.R. Harper, who served from 1976 until his retirement in 1984. Harper was succeeded by the college's fifth president, J.W. Cofer, who served from 1984 until his retirement in 1992.

The sixth and current president of Kansas Christian College is Dr. Gary D. Cook, who was elected in 1992. Under Cook's leadership, the college has undergone a period of significant growth and expansion.

Kansas Christian College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and offers bachelor's degrees in business, education, ministry, and music.
