Judson University is a private, non-profit, coeducational institution of higher education located in Elgin, Illinois, United States. The university is affiliated with the American Baptist Churches USA. Judson offers more than 50 undergraduate majors and adult degree programs. The university also offers online degree programs.
Judson University was founded in 1963 as Judson College, a two-year liberal arts institution affiliated with the American Baptist Churches. The college was named after Adoniram Judson, the first Baptist missionary to Burma. In 1965, the college moved to its current location in Elgin, Illinois. In 1991, the college began offering four-year degree programs and was renamed Judson University.
Judson University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The university is also accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.
Judson University's campus is located on 110 acres (45 hectares) of land in Elgin, Illinois. The university has five residence halls, a dining hall, a library, a fitness center, and several academic buildings.
