Idaho State University is a public research university in Pocatello, Idaho. Founded in 1901 as the Academy of Idaho, ISU offers more than 280 programs of study, including master's, doctoral, and professional degrees. ISU is the state's designated lead institution in health professions and medical research. It is also the largest university in Idaho, with an average enrollment of over 13,000 students. ISU's athletic teams compete in Division I of the NCAA and are known as the Bengals.
