Hendrix College is a private liberal arts college in Conway, Arkansas. Founded in 1876 and named for prominent local citizen and Baptist minister Rev. Eugene Hendrix, the college began as a primary school and later a high school. It is the oldest higher education institution in central Arkansas and was originally affiliated with the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. Hendrix is a member of the Associated Colleges of the South. Hendrix College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and ranked tied for the 117th best liberal arts college in the nation by U.S. News & World Report in their 2021 rankings. The Princeton Review also included Hendrix on their Best Colleges: Region by Region list for the Midwest.
