Excelsior meets students where they are—academically and geographically—providing quality degree programs that are flexible and affordable.

Excelsior offers more than 30 degree programs in business, health sciences, liberal arts, nursing, and technology. Students can earn an Excelsior degree online or through a combination of online and residential study at our convenient locations in Manhattan, Queens, and Syracuse, New York.

Excelsior College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Additionally, many of our individual programs hold programmatic accreditation.

Founded in 1971 and located in Albany, New York, Excelsior is a flexible, personalized and affordable college, offering associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees in a variety of high-demand fields.

Excelsior College has an open admissions policy, meaning that any student who has a high school diploma or equivalent is eligible to apply for admission. There are no SAT or ACT requirements for admission, and students are not required to submit any standardized test scores.

Once you have submitted your application, you will need to complete an assessment to determine your course placement. This assessment is used to ensure that you are placed in the appropriate level courses and is not used for admission purposes.

Once you have been admitted to Excelsior College, you will work with an academic advisor to develop a degree plan that fits your educational and career goals. You will then register for courses and begin your journey toward earning a degree from Excelsior College.
