The College of the Marshall Islands (CMI) is a public college in the Marshall Islands. It is the only institution of higher education in the country and is located in Majuro, the capital city. CMI offers associate's and bachelor's degrees in a variety of subjects, including business, education, and the liberal arts. The college is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
CMI was established in 1987 as the Marshall Islands Community College. It became a four-year institution in 1993 and was renamed CMI in 2001. The college has a strong focus on Marshallese culture and language, and all students are required to take courses in these subjects. CMI also offers a number of programs and services for the Marshallese community, including adult education and workforce development.
