Biola University is a private evangelical Christian university located in La Mirada, California. The university was founded in 1908 as the Bible Institute Of Los Angeles by Lyman Stewart, President of the Union Oil Company, and his son-in-law, Dr. T.C. Horton. The university's mission is "Biola University is a leading private university dedicated to the integration of biblical Christianity with every area of scholarship and practice."

The university is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and offers over 150 undergraduate and graduate programs. The undergraduate programs are organized into six schools: School of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, School of Education, School of Intercultural Studies, School of Psychology, and Rosemead School of Psychology. The graduate programs are organized into four schools: School of Applied Studies, School of Education, School of Psychology, and Talbot School of Theology.
