Southern New Hampshire University is a private, nonprofit, coeducational research university located between Manchester and Hooksett, New Hampshire, in the United States. The university is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges as well as several other accrediting bodies. It was founded in 1932 as the New Hampshire School of Accounting and Secretarial Science and was the first accredited institution in the state of New Hampshire to offer associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees. The school became Southern New Hampshire University in 1963 and was one of the first schools in the country to offer an online degree program in 1996. As of 2019, the university has over 3,000 on-campus students and over 80,000 online students, making it one of the largest universities in the country. The university offers over 200 degree programs and is divided into nine colleges.
