California Aeronautical University (CAU) is a private university in North America specializing in aviation and aerospace-related programs. It is located in the city of Los Angeles, California, USA. The university is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission.

CAU was founded in 1984 as the California Aviation University, and later renamed to its current name in 2001. The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs in aviation, engineering, business and management.

The university’s aviation programs are FAA-approved and CAU is a member of the prestigious Flight Safety Foundation. The university’s engineering programs are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

CAU’s campus is located at the Van Nuys Airport, one of the busiest general aviation airports in the world. The university has a fleet of over 50 aircraft, including single and multi-engine planes, helicopters and a simulator lab.
