Admission Requirements

York County Community College (YCCC) is a public community college in Wells, Maine. It is part of the Maine Community College System. YCCC offers associate degrees and certificate programs in a variety of academic and career fields.

Admission to YCCC is open to all students who have a high school diploma or equivalent. There are no minimum GPA or test score requirements. However, students are encouraged to submit their transcripts and test scores for placement purposes.

YCCC has a rolling admissions policy, which means that applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications for fall semester should be submitted by August 1, and applications for spring semester should be submitted by December 1.

Once an application is received, the Admissions Office will review the student's transcripts and test scores (if available) to determine course placement. The student will then be contacted to schedule an advising appointment. At the advising appointment, the student will meet with an advisor to discuss their academic goals and develop a plan of study.

Once the student has been advised and has registered for classes, they will receive a bill for tuition and fees. Payment is due prior to the start of the semester. Financial aid is available for those who qualify.
