Western Piedmont Community College is a two-year public college in Morganton, North Carolina. It is part of the North Carolina Community College System. The college offers associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates in over 50 programs of study.
Western Piedmont Community College was established in 1964 as a branch of Asheville-Buncombe Technical Institute. In 1967, the college became a separate institution and began offering its own curriculum. The college moved to its current location in Morganton in 1974.
Since its founding, Western Piedmont Community College has grown to serve over 4,000 students each year. The college is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
