Washtenaw Community College (WCC) is a public, two-year institution of higher education located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The college is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. WCC offers over 100 academic programs and certificates, as well as workforce training and continuing education.

WCC was founded in 1965 as the Washtenaw County Technical Institute. The institute was created in response to the growing need for technical and vocational training in the county. The first classes were held in September 1966. In 1967, the institute was renamed Washtenaw Community College.

Since its founding, WCC has grown to serve over 16,000 students each year. The college has two campuses, the main campus in Ann Arbor and the Morris Lawrence campus in Chelsea. WCC also has a number of satellite locations throughout the county.

WCC offers a wide variety of academic programs and certificates, as well as workforce training and continuing education. The college’s academic programs are organized into five divisions: Arts and Humanities; Business and Information Technology; Health and Public Services; Manufacturing, Engineering and Technology; and Natural Sciences and Mathematics.

WCC’s Arts and Humanities Division offers programs in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. The division’s programs are designed to develop students’ critical thinking, communication, and creative skills.

The Business and Information Technology Division offers programs in business, accounting, computer science, and information technology. The division’s programs are designed to develop students’ business and technology skills.

The Health and Public Services Division offers programs in health care, human services, and public safety. The division’s programs are designed to develop students’ health care, human service, and public safety skills.

The Manufacturing, Engineering and Technology Division offers programs in manufacturing, engineering, and technology. The division’s programs are designed to develop students’ manufacturing, engineering, and technology skills.

The Natural Sciences and Mathematics Division offers programs in the natural sciences and mathematics. The division’s programs are designed to develop students’ critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills.
