Admission Requirements
Victoria College is a college of the University of Toronto, founded in 1836 by the Church of England. As a collegiate institute, it is a constituent member of the university.
The college is named for Queen Victoria, who presided over the Confederation of Canada in 1867. It is located on the northwest corner of the university's downtown campus in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The original site of the college was at the corner of College and University Avenues, where the present-day Main Building stands. The college moved to its current location in 1892.
The main building of the college is a designated heritage site. The college is also home to the Chapel of St. Michael and All Angels, which is a National Historic Site of Canada.
The college is governed by a council, which is responsible for the academic and administrative affairs of the college. The council is composed of the president, vice-president, and treasurer of the college, the heads of the academic departments, the deans of the faculties of arts, divinity, law, medicine, and science, and eight other members.
The president of the college is the chief executive officer and is responsible for the overall academic and administrative operations of the college. The president is appointed by the Governing Council on the recommendation of the college's search committee.
The current president of Victoria College is Professor Stephen Toope.
The academic departments of the college are organized into four faculties: Arts, Divinity, Law, and Science.
The Faculty of Arts offers programs leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.), and Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.).
The Faculty of Divinity offers programs leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Divinity (B.D.), Master of Divinity (M.Div.), and Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.).
The Faculty of Law offers programs leading to the degrees of Juris Doctor (J.D.), Master of Laws (LL.M.), and Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.).
The Faculty of Science offers programs leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Master of Science (M.Sc.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.).
