Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College (SWVCTC) is a public two-year college located in Mount Gay, West Virginia. The college was established in 1962 as Mount Gay Vocational Technical Institute. In 1987, the school changed its name to Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College. The college offers associate degrees and certificate programs in a variety of fields, including business, healthcare, and technology.

SWVCTC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The college has an enrollment of approximately 1,200 students. The student body is approximately 60% female and 40% male. The college employs approximately 100 faculty and staff members.

The college’s campus is located on a 100-acre site in Mount Gay. The campus includes a variety of buildings and facilities, including a library, a gymnasium, and a bookstore.

The college’s academic programs are divided into five divisions: Business and Technology, Health Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Mathematics and Sciences, and Workforce Education and Development. The college also offers a variety of non-credit courses and programs.

SWVCTC is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and offers a variety of intercollegiate sports teams. The college’s athletic teams compete in the Mid-Atlantic Conference of the NJCAA.

The college’s mascot is the Mountaineer. The college’s colors are green and gold.
