South Central College is a community college in North Mankato, Minnesota. It is part of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system. The college offers associate's degrees and certificate programs in a variety of fields, including business, healthcare, and manufacturing.
South Central College was founded in 1966 as Mankato Technical Institute. The institute offered associate's degrees and certificate programs in a variety of technical fields. In 1972, the institute was renamed South Central State College and began offering liberal arts courses in addition to its technical programs. In 1975, the college became part of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system.
Today, South Central College offers more than 70 degree and certificate programs. The college has campuses in North Mankato and Faribault, Minnesota. It also has a number of online and distance learning programs.
South Central College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
