Admission Requirements

Roane-Jackson Technical Center is a public, two-year technical college located in Roane County, West Virginia. The school offers associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates in a variety of technical and career fields. Admission to the school is open to all high school graduates and GED holders who meet the minimum GPA requirements. Transfer students from other colleges and universities are also welcome.

The Roane-Jackson Technical Center has a long history of providing quality technical and career training to the residents of Roane County and the surrounding areas. The school was founded in 1963 as a result of a joint effort between the Roane County Board of Education and the Jackson County Board of Education. The original campus was located in the town of Spencer, West Virginia. In 1965, the school moved to its current location in the city of Ravenswood, West Virginia.

The Roane-Jackson Technical Center offers a variety of programs that lead to associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. The school has programs in the areas of business, computer science, health care, and human services. The Roane-Jackson Technical Center also offers a variety of continuing education courses for those who wish to update their skills or learn new ones.

The Roane-Jackson Technical Center is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). The school is also a member of the National Association of Industrial Technology (NAIT) and the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT).
