Mid-Plains Community College (MPCC) is a two-year public college in Nebraska, United States. It is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The college has its main campus in North Platte and two branch campuses, one in McCook and one in South Platte. MPCC offers associate's degrees and certificate programs in a variety of fields.
MPCC was founded in 1966 as a result of a merger between McCook Junior College and North Platte Junior College. The college's first president was Dr. Harold G. Moulton. The college initially operated out of a former high school building in McCook. In 1968, the college moved to its current location in North Platte. The college has undergone a number of changes over the years, including the construction of new buildings and the addition of new programs.
MPCC is a member of the Nebraska Community College Association and the Nebraska Community College System. The college is governed by a seven-member Board of Governors, which is appointed by the Nebraska Governor. The college is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
MPCC offers a variety of associate's degrees and certificate programs. The college also offers a number of distance learning and online courses. MPCC is home to a number of student organizations, including the Student Government Association, the McCook campus Student Senate, and the International Student Organization.
