Marion Military Institute (MMI) is a public military junior college in Marion, Alabama. Founded in 1842, MMI is the oldest military junior college in the United States. It is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees. The Marion Military Institute Regiment of Cadets, the Corps of Cadets for short, is a student organization and the largest extracurricular activity at the school. The Regiment is the only commissioning source for Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) at MMI. All students who wish to commission as Army officers through Army ROTC must first join the Corps of Cadets. The Alabama National Guard also commissions officers through MMI.

MMI was founded as the Marion Female Seminary in 1842 by the Alabama Baptist Convention. The name was changed to Marion Military Institute in 1854 when the first cadets were admitted. Marion Military Institute is the oldest military junior college in the United States. The school began offering junior college level courses in 1911 and became a four-year degree-granting institution in1923. In 1926, the name was changed to Marion Military Institute and Junior College. The school became coeducational in 1968. In 2003, the school's name was changed to Marion Military Institute.

MMI is located on a 100-acre (40 ha) campus in the city of Marion, the county seat of Perry County. The campus is in the northwest corner of the city, just south of the Marion Airport. The main campus consists of 15 buildings, including three dormitories, a dining hall, a gymnasium, a drill hall, a chapel, classrooms, laboratories, and offices. The Marion Military Institute Historic District, which includes the main campus, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

MMI is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees. The school offers a curriculum of liberal arts and sciences, as well as technical and military subjects. MMI has an open admissions policy and does not require students to take a entrance examination for admission.

The Corps of Cadets is organized into a military hierarchy with ranks and insignia based on those used by the United States Army. The Corps of Cadets is divided into two battalions, the First and Second, each of which is further divided into companies and platoons. The Corps of Cadets participates in parades, drill competitions, and other activities throughout the year. The Corps of Cadets is also responsible for the upkeep of the MMI campus and for providing military funeral honors for MMI alumni and faculty.

MMI is a member of the Alabama Association of Independent Colleges and Universities and the Association of Military Colleges and Schools of the United States. The school is also a member of the Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) two-year college consortium.
