Admission Requirements
Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) is a two-year institution of higher education located in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. The college is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award the associate degree.
Admission to LFCC is based on the student's high school GPA and SAT/ACT scores. The college does not have an open admissions policy, so not all students who apply will be accepted.
LFCC has a rolling admissions policy, meaning that students can apply at any time and will receive a decision within a few weeks. The sooner a student applies, the better their chances of being accepted.
Once a student is accepted to LFCC, they must complete a New Student Orientation before they can register for classes. Orientation is mandatory for all new students and is designed to help them transition to college life.
After completing Orientation, students will work with an advisor to create a schedule of classes for their first semester. LFCC offers a wide variety of courses, so students should have no trouble finding classes that fit their interests and schedule.
Once students have registered for classes, they will be able to access their course materials online. LFCC uses the Blackboard learning management system, which all students will need to be familiar with in order to succeed in their courses.
LFCC is committed to helping all students succeed, so there are a number of resources available to help students with their studies. These resources include tutoring, academic advising, and career counseling.
Students who successfully complete their associate degree at LFCC will be prepared to transfer to a four-year institution or enter the workforce. LFCC offers a variety of programs that prepare students for success in their future endeavors.
