John Tyler Community College (JTCC) is a two-year public institution of higher education and the fifth largest community college in Virginia. JTCC has campuses in Chester and Midlothian, Virginia and offers over 80 academic programs leading to an Associate degree, certificate, or diploma.

JTCC serves a diverse student population of over 14,000 credit and non-credit students each year. The college’s comprehensive academic programs prepare students for transfer to four-year colleges and universities and for careers in a variety of high-demand fields.

JTCC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award the Associate degree. The college is committed to providing an accessible, affordable, and high-quality education that transforms the lives of our students and strengthens our communities.

John Tyler Community College was established in 1967 as the first community college in Virginia. The college was named after John Tyler, the tenth President of the United States and the first to be born in Virginia.

JTCC’s Chester campus is located on a 300-acre site in Chester, Virginia. The campus is just minutes from downtown Richmond and offers a variety of academic and support services to students.

The Midlothian campus, located in the heart of Chesterfield County, opened in 2004. The campus provides a variety of academic programs, services, and activities to meet the needs of the community.
