Jefferson State Community College (JSCC) is a two-year public institution of higher education located in Birmingham, Alabama. JSCC is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and Associate in Applied Science degrees. The college is a member of the Alabama Community College System (ACCS).

JSCC was established in 1965 as Jefferson County Community College, one of the first two community colleges in Alabama. The college began with classes held in the old Carver High School building in downtown Birmingham. In 1967, the college moved to its current location on Valley Road in southwest Birmingham. The college has since undergone several expansions and renovations, most recently in 2010.

Today, JSCC enrolls over 10,000 students in credit and non-credit courses each semester. The college offers over 70 degree and certificate programs in a variety of fields, including business, healthcare, engineering, and liberal arts. JSCC also offers a number of online and distance learning courses and programs.

In addition to its academic programs, JSCC provides a number of student services and support programs, including tutoring, advising, career services, and disability services. The college also has an active campus life, with over 50 student clubs and organizations. JSCC is committed to serving the community and provides a number of services, such as adult education and workforce development programs.
