Itawamba Community College was founded in 1948 as Itawamba Agricultural High School, a vocational school for students interested in agriculture. The school became a community college in 1974 and began offering associate degrees in a variety of programs. Today, the college serves over 4,000 students each year and offers over 50 programs of study.
The college has two campuses, the main campus in Fulton and a branch campus in Tupelo. The main campus is home to the college's academic and administrative buildings, as well as the Itawamba Community College Museum. The Tupelo campus offers classes and programs in business, health sciences, and industrial technologies.
