Admission Requirements
Illinois Central College (ICC) is a public community college in East Peoria, Illinois. Founded in 1967, ICC serves Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford counties in Illinois. The college offers associate degrees and certificate programs in a variety of fields, as well as online and dual-credit courses.
To be eligible for admission to ICC, students must have a high school diploma or equivalent. GED holders must also submit official high school transcripts. Students who have completed college-level coursework at another institution must submit official transcripts from that institution.
ICC uses a placement test to determine course placement for students who have not yet completed college-level coursework. The placement test is not required for students who have completed college-level English and math courses with a C or better.
Students who have not yet taken the placement test must do so before registering for classes. The placement test is offered on a walk-in basis, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Once students have been admitted to ICC, they must complete a new student orientation before registering for classes. Orientation is offered online and in-person. During orientation, students will learn about ICC policies and procedures, and will have the opportunity to meet with an academic advisor to discuss their educational goals.
