Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) is a public, two-year college located in Rome, Georgia. GNTC is part of the Technical College System of Georgia and offers associate degrees, diplomas, and technical certificates of credit. The college also offers adult education and continuing education courses.

GNTC was founded in 1962 as Floyd Junior College. In 1986, the name was changed to Floyd College. In 2000, the name was again changed, this time to Georgia Northwestern Technical College, to better reflect the mission and scope of the institution.

GNTC serves a six-county service area in northwest Georgia: Bartow, Chattooga, Floyd, Gordon, Paulding, and Polk. The college has campuses in Rome, Rockmart, Cartersville, and Dallas. GNTC also has a distance learning program and offers online courses.

GNTC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate degrees. The college is also accredited by the following agencies:

• Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)

• National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF)

GNTC is a member of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) and the Georgia Association of Technical College System Presidents (GATCSP).

The college offers over 140 programs of study in the following areas:

In addition to the credit programs, GNTC also offers adult education, continuing education, and workforce development programs.

The adult education program offers courses for adults who want to earn a high school diploma or GED. The continuing education program offers non-credit courses for personal or professional development. The workforce development program provides training for businesses and industries in the northwest Georgia region.
