Gadsden State Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education located in Gadsden, Alabama. The college is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and Associate in Applied Science degrees. The college is composed of five campuses: the Main Campus in Gadsden, the Ayers Campus in Anniston, the McClellan Campus in Anniston, the Valley Street Campus in Southside, and the Wallace Drive Campus in Rainbow City. The college also operates the Gadsden State - Cherokee Center in Centre and the Gadsden State - Lincoln Center in Lincoln. The college's service area includes Cherokee, Cleburne, Etowah, and Calhoun counties.
Gadsden State Community College was established in 1925 as the Alabama Polytechnic Institute Junior College, a two-year branch of the Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University). The college became a part of the Alabama Community College System in 1971 and was renamed Gadsden State Community College. The college offers a wide variety of programs and courses of study, including over 50 associate degree and certificate programs.
