Admission Requirements
Davidson County Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education and is a part of the North Carolina Community College System. The college is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award associate degrees. The college serves Davidson and Davie counties in North Carolina.
Admission to Davidson County Community College is open to any high school graduate or GED recipient who meets the North Carolina Community College System admission requirements. In order to be eligible for admission, applicants must submit an application, official high school transcripts or GED scores, and any applicable test scores. Admission is granted on a rolling basis and students are encouraged to apply early.
Once admitted, students must complete a mandatory new student orientation prior to registering for classes. During orientation, students will meet with an academic advisor to discuss their educational goals and develop a plan of study. Advisors will also help students select courses that fit their schedule and meet degree requirements.
Davidson County Community College offers a variety of degree and certificate programs that can be completed in two years or less. The college also offers a number of distance learning and online courses to accommodate students who are unable to attend classes on campus.
