Danville Area Community College (DACC) is a two-year public community college in Danville, Illinois, United States. DACC is part of the Illinois Community College System and offers over fifty programs of study leading to an Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and Associate in Applied Science degrees as well as certificates in a variety of occupational fields. The college also offers a number of non-credit courses and adult education programs.
DACC was founded in 1946 as Vermilion County Community College, the first community college in Illinois. The college was originally housed in the former Vermilion County Hospital on College Street in Danville. In 1961, the college moved to its current campus on North Vermilion Street. The college underwent a major expansion in the late 1990s, adding a number of new buildings and facilities.
DACC serves the communities of Danville, Tilton, Hoopeston, Westville, and the surrounding areas. The college has an enrollment of over 4,000 students.
DACC offers a wide variety of academic programs and services. The college is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association. DACC is also accredited by the National League for Nursing and the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
