The Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) is the largest community college in New England and the only public institution of higher education in the state of Rhode Island. Founded in 1964, CCRI has grown to serve more than 18,000 students annually at its four campuses in Warwick, Lincoln, Providence and Newport.
CCRI offers more than 100 academic programs leading to associate degrees and certificates, as well as non-credit courses and training programs. The college also provides a variety of support services to help students succeed, including tutoring, advising, and career counseling.
CCRI is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and is a member of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). The college is also recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a Title IV institution, which allows CCRI students to receive federal financial aid.
In addition to its academic programs, CCRI is also home to a number of athletic teams, clubs and organizations. The college’s athletics program includes men’s and women’s basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis and volleyball. CCRI’s clubs and organizations include the Student Government Association, the Gay-Straight Alliance, and the Black Student Union.
The college’s Warwick campus is the largest of the four campuses, and is home to the college’s main academic buildings, including the Knight Campus Center and the Flanagan Campus Center. The Lincoln campus is home to the Lincoln Woods State Park, which offers hiking, biking and fishing opportunities. The Providence campus is located in the heart of the city, and is home to the college’s culinary arts program. The Newport campus is located on Aquidneck Island, and offers a variety of marine-related programs.
CCRI is committed to providing an affordable, high-quality education to all of its students. In addition to its low tuition rates, the college offers a variety of financial aid opportunities, including grants, loans and scholarships. CCRI also participates in the Rhode Island Promise program, which provides free tuition to eligible Rhode Island residents.
