Central Carolina Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education located in the heart of North Carolina. The college offers associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates in over 100 areas of study. CCCC also provides adult basic education, continuing education, and workforce development programs.

Central Carolina Community College was founded in 1961 as Central Carolina Technical Institute. The name was changed to Central Carolina Community College in 1963. The college opened its doors to students in the fall of 1964 with an enrollment of 532 students.
Since its inception, CCCC has grown tremendously. The college now serves over 18,000 students each year and is the third largest community college in the state. CCCC has campuses in the cities of Sanford, Lillington, and Pittsboro, as well as numerous off-campus locations.
