Black Hawk College is a community college in the Quad Cities area of northwestern Illinois. It was established in 1946 as Black Hawk College of Education, a two-year teacher training institution. In 1964, the college expanded its mission to include technical and vocational education and began offering associate's degrees. Today, Black Hawk College serves over 10,000 students each year and offers over 100 academic and career programs. The college has two main campuses in Moline and East Moline, as well as a number of satellite locations. Black Hawk College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
