Stanley Black And Decker
The scholarship shall be open to all applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, citizenship, disability, age, or veteran status, subject to the following criteria:
a. Recipient(s) must be full-time undergraduate students currently enrolled at or admitted to attend the University.
b. Recipient(s) must demonstrate sustained academic performance with at least a 3.0 grade point average or this merit scholarship.
c. For the 2021-2022 academic year, classifications for successful scholarship applicants should be a combination of students who are rising freshmen – juniors. In following years, there should always be one rising freshman with rising seniors not being eligible for first time awards.
d. Recipients should have an interest in pursuing a career in engineering, sales, marketing, data analytics, finance, supply chain, operations, communications or human resource management.
e. Applicants should submit brief responses to the following questions –
1. Why do HBCUs matter?
2. Describe a time when you’ve overcome a challenge or barrier to success.
3. Why should you be a Stanley Black & Decker Leadership Scholar?
f. Applicants should submit two letters of recommendation, one reflecting academics and one reflecting leadership. f. Recipients will be asked, encouraged, and invited to serve as Stanley Black & Decker ambassadors. Recipients of the Scholarship may retain their award for a maximum of four years or until they complete their Bachelors degree requirements, so long as they remain University students in good standing.
