Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage-Rochester (OSTM-Rochester) is a private, post-secondary institution offering a professional massage therapy education. OSTM-Rochester’s massage therapy program is designed to prepare students for a career in the massage therapy profession. Students also receive hands-on training in a variety of massage modalities, such as Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, and sports massage. Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to take the National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCETMB).
graduates of the massage therapy program are prepared for a variety of careers in the massage therapy profession. Career options include working in a spa, clinic, or hospital setting; teaching massage therapy; or owning their own massage therapy business. With a massage therapy license, graduates may also choose to work as independent contractors.
The massage therapy program at OSTM-Rochester is designed to be completed in 18 months. The program consists of three semesters of coursework, followed by a semester of clinical training. Full-time students can expect to complete the program in 15 months, while part-time students may take up to 21 months to complete the program.
OSTM-Rochester also offers a variety of continuing education courses for massage therapists. These courses are designed to help massage therapists maintain their licensure and keep up with the latest massage therapy techniques.
