Nashville Film Institute (NFI) is a for-profit college located in Nashville, Tennessee. NFI was founded in 1971 by Charles Robert (Bob) McAlister and George S. Johnson. It is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).
NFI offers Associate of Applied Science degrees in Film and Video Production, and Acting for Film and Television. The Film and Video Production degree program includes courses in cinematography, directing, editing, and producing. The Acting for Film and Television degree program includes courses in acting technique, film and television history, and script analysis.
NFI also offers a certificate program in Film and Video Production. The certificate program includes courses in cinematography, directing, editing, and producing.
NFI has a faculty of over 30 instructors, many of whom are working professionals in the film and television industry. NFI also has a staff of over 20 production assistants who work on student films and assist with classroom and laboratory instruction.
NFI has a state-of-the-art facility that includes a sound stage, screening room, editing suites, and production offices. NFI also has a fleet of production vehicles, including a grip truck, camera truck, and lighting truck.
NFI’s campus is located in the heart of Nashville’s music and entertainment district. NFI is within walking distance of many of Nashville’s music venues, restaurants, and hotels.
