Aft Roberts G. Porter Scholars Program
The AFT Robert G. Porter Scholars Program will provide four $8,000 scholarships for 4 years to those applicants who are children or legal dependents of members of the AFT. An additional 10 members of AFT will receive $1,000 grants to each to be used for continuing education or to strengthen their unions. Eligible students for the $8,000 must be graduating high school seniors. A legal guardian or one parent must be an active member of the AFT. The children and dependents of union staff do not qualify for these scholarships. Recipients will be required to maintain a 2.75 GPA to continue receiving the renewal of the scholarship. To be awarded the scholarship, students must demonstrate involvement in the community and school activities, leadership, special skills, and work experience. more...

Applegate-Jackson-Parks Future Teacher Scholarship dedicates $1,000 to one student who exemplifies the superior principles and high professional standards similar to those for whom the scholarship was founded. Employees, officers, directors, and family members of the National Right to Work Committee, Members of the Selection Review Committee, and the National Institute for Labor Relations Research are not eligible to apply. This scholarship was established by the Atlanta Air Cargo Association. Applicants must be admitted to the College of Business. Preference will be given to applicants who have completed or who are enrolled in at least one of the Logistics and Supply Chain Management courses and who are working towards the supply chain minor or major with a minimum 2.8 GPA. The Atlanta Music Project Provides intense music education for under served youth. This scholarship will be awarded to full time students in good standing at CSU; majoring or having a minor or concentration, in music and who are current interns of AMP. Hearts For Community Service Scholarship Award
In honor of Warrick Dunn’s philanthropic spirit, Warrick Dunn Charities’ Hearts for Community Service Scholarship invites post-secondary education students, who are hands on in bettering their communities to apply. Students of Florida, Georgia and Louisiana have the chance to receive a $1,000 scholarship award towards the 2017 – 2018 academic school year.
Eligibility:
Must provide volunteer service to their local community
Must be attending post‐secondary education
Must be a resident or attending school in Florida, Georgia or Louisiana
A minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 grading scale
Deadline:
The Hearts for Community Service Scholarship application and required documents should be submitted no later than July 31, 2017 by 5 p.m. EST. The Inspire Our Future Scholarship is provided by Teacher.org. This organization advocates for prospective teachers and other education positions. Some of the majors of people who qualify for the $500 scholarship include early childhood education, child development, special education, and a general degree in education. You can be in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or a doctoral degree. Applicants must be at least 18, a legal US resident, and hold a minimum 3.5 GPA.
