Southwestern Illinois College is a two-year community college located in the Metro East region of southwestern Illinois. The college was established in 1946 as Belleville Area College and later renamed Southwestern Illinois College in 1974. The college serves a district that includes all of Madison, Monroe, Randolph, and St. Clair counties.
