Admission Requirements
Rowan-Cabarrus Community College (RCCC) is a public, two-year institution of higher education located in North Carolina. RCCC offers a variety of programs and courses leading to the awarding of an Associate in Arts (AA), Associate in Science (AS), or Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree. The college also offers diploma and certificate programs in a variety of career and technical fields.
RCCC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award the AA, AS, and AAS degrees.
To be eligible for admission to RCCC, an applicant must:
1) Be a high school graduate or the equivalent (GED);
2) Be at least 18 years of age;
3) Present evidence of immunization against measles, mumps, and rubella; and
4) Take and pass a placement test, unless exempt.
Applicants who do not meet all of the above requirements may still be eligible for admission to RCCC through the College's Open Door Admissions policy.
RCCC has an open-door admissions policy, meaning that any applicant who has a high school diploma or GED and is at least 18 years of age is eligible for admission to the College. However, some programs at RCCC have selective admissions requirements. These programs include:
1) Health Sciences programs;
2) Dental Assisting;
3) Veterinary Technology;
4) Radiography;
5) Nuclear Medicine Technology;
6) Surgical Technology;
7) Respiratory Therapy;
8) Physical Therapy Assistant;
9) Occupational Therapy Assistant; and
10) Emergency Medical Science.
Applicants to these programs must meet additional requirements, which may include passing an entrance exam, completing prerequisite coursework, and/or having a minimum GPA.
