Admission Requirements
Northeast Alabama Community College (NACC) is a public, two-year institution of higher education located in Rainsville, Alabama, United States. NACC offers associate degrees, technical certificates, and continuing education opportunities. The college serves a five-county area in northeast Alabama: DeKalb, Jackson, Lauderdale, Marshall, and Etowah.
NACC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award the Associate in Arts (AA), Associate in Science (AS), and Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degrees.
The mission of Northeast Alabama Community College is to provide accessible, high quality, and affordable educational opportunities and services that promote student success and enhance the economic and social well-being of our citizens.
NACC is an open-admission college, meaning that any person who has a high school diploma or equivalent is eligible to enroll in credit courses. The only exception to this policy is for those seeking a nursing degree, which has additional admission requirements.
Prospective students must complete an application for admission and submit all required transcripts and test scores. Once all materials have been received, the Admissions Office will determine if the student has met all requirements for admission.
Students who have not met all requirements for regular admission may be eligible for conditional admission. Those who are conditionally admitted must complete developmental courses in English and/or math before taking credit courses. Developmental courses do not count towards a degree but are designed to help students build the skills necessary for success in college-level coursework.
NACC also offers a variety of non-credit courses and programs for those not seeking a degree. These include adult education, workforce development, and community enrichment.
