Minnesota State Community and Technical College (M State) is a public two-year college in Minnesota. It is a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system. The college has campuses in Moorhead, Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Wadena and Breckenridge, as well as online and distance learning options.
M State offers more than 80 programs of study in five areas: business and industry, health and human services, liberal arts and sciences, manufacturing and construction, and transportation and energy. The college also offers a number of certificate and diploma programs.
M State is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The college is also a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
M State was founded in 1966 as Moorhead Technical Institute. The institute became a two-year college in 1972 and was renamed Moorhead State Community College. The college expanded to include the Detroit Lakes and Fergus Falls campuses in 1975 and the Wadena campus in 1976. The college was renamed Minnesota State Community and Technical College in 1996.
