Admission Requirements
Los Angeles Southwest College (LASC), located in the unincorporated area of Los Angeles County, California, near the city of Los Angeles, is a public, two-year community college serving primarily the residents of the cities of Los Angeles and Inglewood. LASC is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
LASC offers over 50 academic and career technical education programs leading to the Associate in Arts (AA) and Associate in Science (AS) degrees, and the Associate in Applied Science-Transfer (AAS-T) degree. The college also offers a number of certificate programs.
To be eligible for admission to LASC, an applicant must:
1. Be a high school graduate or have a high school equivalency certificate (e.g., GED);
2. Be 18 years of age or older;
3. Meet the assessment requirements for English and Math; and
4. Complete the LASC application for admission.
Applicants who do not meet all of the above requirements may be admitted on a provisional basis. Provisional admission is granted at the discretion of the college and is based on the applicant's potential for success as determined by a review of the applicant's academic background, life experiences, and other factors.
LASC has an open-door admission policy, which means that any applicant who meets the above requirements will be admitted to the college.
