Lake Area Technical College is a two-year technical college located in Watertown, South Dakota, United States. It is the oldest and largest technical college in the state of South Dakota. The college was founded in 1965 as Lake Area Vocational-Technical Institute. It became Lake Area Technical Institute in 1974 and Lake Area Technical College in 1987. The college has grown significantly since its founding, adding new programs and facilities over the years.
